1.CDS Canada Townhall 2020 Recap
Last month, our Ottawa and Vancouver teams along with District and Regional Managers across Canada met in Ottawa for the annual Townhall meeting. The Townhall is an opportunity to gather as a team and showcase the accomplishments and hard work from the previous year.
The day started with a warm welcome from our leader, CDS Vice President Denise Garcia who highlighted the 2019 business wins, 538,461 demos completed, totaling in 6% year over year growth! Denise also shared the 2020 goal of 573,083 demos and presented the year’s theme, One Team One Goal.
Throughout the day, different departments across the business provided overviews and highlighted their team’s success. The Sales team provided updates on the new business CDS obtained in 2019 with Special Events. They also shared a glimpse of the other new opportunities being explored and piloted in 2020.
In true CDS fashion, time was set aside for recognitions. Account Manager, Rea Tsimanary was named 2019’s Most Valuable Player for solidifying vendor opportunities by doubling the non-food Special Event business, and for building strong relationships with Costco Vendors.
Overall, it was a great time to learn as a team, discuss challenges and opportunities and most importantly, how to continue supporting each other throughout 2020.
2.Focused Recognition
We would like to recognize Event Manager, Lisa Farah from warehouse 56 in Calgary, Alberta for exemplifying the One Team, One Goal attitude.
Sales Advisor Rose Daniel had a tragic incident with her family home burning down. Unfortunately, all four members of her family were hospitalized due to varying degrees of burns and smoke inhalation. Event Manager Lisa Farah stepped up to make the best of this tragic situation to support her team member.
Lisa reached out to both CDS and Costco teams for support in collecting household items as well as monetary donations for Rose and her family. Lisa wanted to broaden the scope of the assistance and came up with a district- wide initiative including the other 13 warehouses in Alberta. The district came together to support their fellow teammate and in total, Lisa was delivered close to $5,000 in cash and household items to help Rose and her family!
